Entries must be by Christian creators

Does that mean your game must have an obvious Christian message? Absolutely not. It means the creator/submitter of the entry will need to agree to our Statement of Faith. If your content would be something you can confidently recommend to Christian players, it fits this contest.

YOUR SUBMISSION

Please provide the following information. 

Make sure title and creator information matches any publicly available version of  the work you are submitting.

CHOOSE YOUR SUBMISSION TYPE:

TEXT ONLY: The first category is limited to text-only experiences or adaptations and should be limited to roughly 10,000 words. Submissions must be acessible for evaluation in a standard web-browser. You will be able to submit via a URL for the sake of judging the gameplay and writing quality. Consider using Ink or Twine as free and easy to use engines for this type of work.(Here’s and example: https://somagames.com/WotR/ep1/ch1/)
VIDEO OF GAMEPLAY: The second category allows for a more complete game experience but still primarily focuses on the writing. Submissions must come in the form of a video link (YouTube, Vimeo, etc) including any password if needed. Submissons should be limited to approximately 30min of gameplay.
Both categories are limited to games/products released between January 1, 2021 and the contest closing date of April 15th, 2025"

CONTENT

Our judges have different comfort levels when it comes to certain themes instories so entries will be assigned accordingly. While mature themes are allowed, explicit content is not. 

The presence or absence of profanity should be a simple determination, but intense/frightening/graphic scenes or sex/innuendo might be more difficult for you to determine. 

We want you to tell us if your work contains content that would give a typical Christian reader pause. 

Definitely check the box if the game contains:

  • Sexual acts or mature innuendo
  • "Steamy" scenes, even if they fade to black before any characters engage in sexual activity
  • Detailed violence. Injuries and death are common to many stories, but if your work includes specifics about wounds or suffering, check the box.
  • Sensitive topics like sex trafficking, abduction, abuse, abortion

When in doubt, check the box.
